Kindergarten & 1st Grade News
Reading LogsJust a reminder to read with your child for 15 minutes each night and record the books and pages on the weekly reading logs. I record the pages your child reads throughout the year for the reading award at the end of the school year. Reading with your child is one of the best ways to improve your child’s reading skills! J
Spelling WordsFirst grade spelling words this week are: ground, down, sour, large, once, face Test will be Friday, February 10. Practice, practice, practice! J
Field TripOn Friday, February 10, we will be going on a field trip to Cracker Country in Tampa. The cost is $4 per child. We will leave around 8:30am and return to school between 2 and 2:30pm. If you would like to help with driving students, please let me know! We will be eating lunch there, so please send a bag lunch with your child. Please make sure all lunch items are picnic-friendly (No HEAT-UPS).
Classroom Valentine’s Day PartyWe will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, February 14. We will decorate Valentine cookies and exchange Valentines with our classmates. If you would be willing to donate any items for cookie decorating, I would appreciate it. Also, here is a list of student names for your child’s valentines.
